The long-awaited "Creation of the Gods I: Kingdom of Storms" was unveiled to eager movie fans at a premiere in Beijing on Monday.
The director Wu Ershan, together with a stellar cast including Fei Xiang, Li Xuejian, Huang Bo, Yu Shi, Xia Yu, Yuan Quan, and Chen Kun, shared their behind-the-scenes stories with fans at the premiere.
The film began production in 2014 and the production was of such a scale that 2,000 crew members were on site at one time.
Huang Bo revealed that to play his character Jiang Ziya, an ancient politician and strategist, he had to undergo over 8 hours in makeup to achieve the right look.
The film also invested heavily in costumes and props, to create an authentic experience for movie-goers.
One movie fan was blown away by the experience.
"I have been looking forward to this film for many years. 'Creation of the Gods' holds a special place in my heart as a national myth. After watching it, I feel that director Wu Ershan and the entire creative team have provided a visually stunning and insightful interpretation of this national myth," she said.
