The Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) will have this year's annual conference in late March offline in the province of Hainan, according to officials at a Wednesday press conference in Beijing.
Leaders of countries, governments and international organizations, enterprise representatives, scholars and media professionals will be invited to discuss the development of Asia and the world in the post-pandemic period and their interests so as to promote international cooperation.
"The world is now standing at a new crossroad, facing bigger challenges and more difficulties. The international community now has a louder call for stability and development," said Li Baodong, secretary-general of Boao Forum for Asia.
"Against such backdrops, the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2023 will continue to highlight frontier issues of Asia and the world and strive to build consensus of different countries on post-pandemic global economic recovery, push for solidarity, cooperation and policy coordination of the international community, and jointly face the challenges and promote development as a whole," he said.
Li added that aside from the annual conference, the forum will continue to host a series of important activities. This year, the second Global Economic Development and Security Forum, the first Global Tourism Forum and other forums will also be held.
The attendees will also deliver new scientific innovation reports on issues such as global efforts countering climate change, carbon neutrality goals, and high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative.
