China Media Group (CMG) unveiled a new cartoon promo for its 2025 Spring Festival Gala on Sunday, marking the start of the one-month countdown to the annual variety show.

The CMG Spring Festival Gala is set to air on Jan 28, the eve of Chinese New Year.
The year 2025 will mark the Year of the Snake, the sixth animal in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac.
The Spring Festival Gala is a cherished tradition that brings families and friends together to enjoy a showcase of songs, dances, comic sketches, operas, and folk arts. Since its debut in 1983, it has been recognized by Guinness World Records as the world's most-watched TV program.
This year's gala holds special significance, as UNESCO on Dec 4 inscribed the Spring Festival, along with the social traditions of the Chinese people celebrating the traditional new year, on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
