Longan Meets Lychee: New Hybrid Fruit Variety Begins Trial Sales

City Life | On August 9, South China Agricultural University hosted a field observation event for its new longan-lychee hybrid variety “Cuimi” (Crispy Honey) in Aotou Town, Conghua District, Guangzhou. Following the debut of the world’s first longan-lychee hybrid variety in 2022, “Cuimi” has expanded its cultivation area to more than 3,000 mu. The variety has successfully expanded northward to Lianzhou for the first time, while trials at a high-altitude cultivation base in Yunnan have also shown promising results. The development of next-generation varieties, “Cuimi 2.0” and “Cuimi 3.0,” is progressing steadily, with a limited quantity of “Cuimi” entering trial sales this year.#citylife

8月9日，华南农业大学在广州从化鳌头镇举行龙眼荔枝杂交新品种“脆蜜”现场观摩会。据悉，继2022年育成全球首个龙眼荔枝杂交新品种后，“脆蜜”目前种植面积已达3000多亩，北移连州首获成功，云南高原基地表现惊艳，“脆二代”“脆三代”育种也在稳步推进，今年已少量上市试卖。
