City Life | A century-old wooden clog shop in Shilong, Dongguan, is keeping the traditional red-lacquered, hand-painted clog-making craft alive through two generations. Liang Jiacong, a young craftsman born in the 1990s, left a well-paid job to return home, improving the clogs with materials such asXiangyunsha and cowhide, and creating cultural and creative products like miniature clogs. His efforts have brought this ancient craft to the runway at Milan Fashion Week, with online orders now exceeding 300 pairs a month.
