Ethnic unity and progress month-themed event held
[Fuzhou Evening News]From September 12th till 13th, Fujian province’s 16th ethnic unity and progress month-themed event was held in Fuzhou. Themed “Show Love to China in Unison”, the event composed of one ceremony and four activities, namely the launching ceremony of the ethnic unity and progress month, the Fujian Fuzi (pomegranate seed, implying unison or solidarity) carnival and the ethnic interaction, exchange and integration-themed day, the awards ceremony of the first Fujian ethnic villages training camp for the “promotion of ethnic interaction, exchange and integration with innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship and the achievement exhibition, the mutual visit and mutual learning campaign for ethnic unity and progress across the province, and the adolescent students speech contest on “Show Love to China in Unison”.
Fujian Province reportedly boasts 571 ethnic villages or communities in 19 ethnic townships. Over the recent years, Fujian Province has worked hard to increase the popularity of “Show Love to China in Unison”, and built faster itself into an important window for the solidarity and progress of the Chinese nation. Cadres are designated to assist the handling of rural affairs across all 82 ethnic villages in Fuzhou, the provincial capital, which is home to 16 featured villages of Chinese ethnic minority groups and 19 demonstration ethnic villages in rural vitalization. Furthermore, Fuzhou has launched virtually the “Fuzi Homeland” exhibition hall, and built the digital incubation base for “Fuzi Homeland” featured industries as well as the Shangxiahang demonstration neighborhood for ethnic unity and progress.
