A team headed by a post-95s animation designer participates in the modeling of such scenes as Yuxu Palace

Modelling of a few scenes in the celestial Yuxu Palace in the film was undertaken by a Fuzhou-based animation team.

Ne Zha 2, an animated film which was created with more than five years of efforts, continues to shine at the office box in 2025. The huge success is partially ascribed to the devotion of some Fujian-based companies. Besides Beishi (Xiamen) Cultural Development Co., Ltd., Xiaoyu Hanfei Cultural Creativity Studio in Taijiang District, Fuzhou, founded by Chen Lingxiao, a post-95s young man from Minqing, also appeared on the list of production companies.

“The Yuxu Palace was made of Hetian jade.” Chen Lingxiao explained. In April 2023, Xiaoyu Hanfei Cultural Creativity Studio received an assignment from Ne Zha 2 to be responsible for craving and modelling of some animated scenes in the Yuxu Palace. Chen Lingxiao is keenly aware that Jiaozi is a very demanding director as he used to be among the lineup of creators for Ne Zha 2. To show a magnificent and exquisite Yuxu Palace, he and his team members never stopped seeking perfection. His team took as many as 15 days to repeatedly consult with the director on the pattern of auspicious clouds inside the Yuxu Palace.

As a member in the lineup of creation, he not only assisted the team with figure modeling, but also participated in the modeling of such scenes as Chentang Pass.

“Mountains in Chentang Pass are derived from Guilin’s scenery.” To facilitate modeling, he collected prior to production a large number of photos and videos on Guilin’s scenery to gain a deeper insight into mountain structures and the spatial distribution of trees. The ten-member team in Fuzhou headed by Chen Lingxiao made its share of contributions to the success of Ne Zha 2.
