The 8th Digital China Summit was held in Fuzhou from April 29 to 30, 2025.

The Summit primarily consisted of the opening ceremony, the main forum, sub-forums as well as other featured activities, including the Digital China Innovation Competition, Evening Talks on Digital Technology along the Minjiang River, and A Dialogue with the Future in the Blessed City. Furthermore, the event opened an experience area and chose Zhejiang Province and Chongqing Municipality as guests of honor.

The number of activities and attendees in the event both refreshed historical records. The experience area comprised four exhibition sections on improving the digital environment, enhancing the key competency, consolidating the digital foundation, and boosting economic and social development, as well as three featured sections on innovation-driven development of the Digital China Initiative, digital ecological progress and data factors-based enterprises.

The 2025 Digital China Innovation Competition set up 11 contests in four categories on foundational consolidation, the enabling role of digital technology, industrial development, and talent development, and was attended by a record high of more than 30,000 people.

More than 20 featured activities, including A Dialogue with the Future in the Blessed City and Evening Talks on Digital Technology along the Minjiang River, were held. China Telecom, China Unicom, China Mobile and Huawei sponsored four conferences on industrial environment.

It is worth mentioning that humanoid robots interacted with guests and robotic dogs launched a flash mob inside the Fuzhou Strait International Convention and Exhibition Center. 46 elaborately-designed sites to experience application scenarios of digital technology outside the venue and six recommended routes enabled citizens in Fuzhou to see firsthand the charm of digital technology.  (Liang Kaihong)
