The Qingdao Textile Valley, where Qingdao’s textile industry thrived, has come back to the public vision in a stylish manner. The century-old Bauhaus style factory building has been home to fashionable coffee shops, motorcycle shops and handicraft shops, cutting-edge art galleries and fascinating original designer shows. The Qingdao Textile Valley featuring “fashion+” has emerged as a new glamorous IP landmark by integrating industrial heritage with trendy lifestyles.
The first Qingdao Textile Valley Graffiti Art Invitational Exhibition, which was held in 2018, turned the century-old factory building into an internet-famous site overnight. Over the recent four years, the Qingdao Textile Valley has built up successively over 100 new immersive urban fashionable consumption scenarios, including art galleries, museums, the Museum of Fibre Science and Technology, the China National Museum of Fabrics and the Museum of Braiding Art to integrate the time-honored historical building, the bright-colored fibre art, the constantly changing frontier technology and fashion trends. Bolstered by its textile cultural heritage that dates back over 100 years ago, the textile valley park has accommodated nearly 50 textile industry-related businesses and 170 businesses from other industries and of new forms, and attracted over 30 original costume designers, and thus fostered a locally known fashion ecosystem.
