A TOTAL of 288 undergraduate students and 94 graduate students at Shenzhen MSU-BIT University (SMBU) turned their tassels and celebrated during a commencement ceremony held at the university’s campus in Longgang District on Tuesday.
Students, dressed in their graduation gowns, were seen holding bouquets of flowers as they were joined by their families, friends, classmates, and teachers after the ceremony.
Garipov Rustam, a Russian undergraduate who will pursue further studies at the National University of Singapore, described his time at the university as a very unique experience.
Rustam spent two years at the Lomonosov Moscow State University before attending SMBU for another two years. During that time, he gained a deep understanding of economics and became fluent in Chinese and English.
Vorontsov Georgii, another Russian graduate, will continue his education in a master’s degree program at SMBU. Georgii expressed a desire to explore job opportunities in China after graduation if suitable prospects arise.
