A panda cub at the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda (CCRCGP) in southwest China's Sichuan Province recently showed up its gourmand side when it fixed its gaze on a bamboo shoot, chasing at the heels of its keeper for the treat.
The footage, released by the Wolong Shenshuping Panda Base on the multimedia platform iPanda on Nov 15, 2023, showed that bathed in the warm sunshine, a chubby foodie was running after a keeper, its eyes following closely only one thing – a juicy bamboo shoot! The cute bear even showed a triumphant smile after it got its "prey".
The CCRCGP is a world-leading institution for the preservation and reproduction of the giant panda population, and reintroduction of the species into the wild.
At present, the institution has carried out cooperation with 18 zoos in 16 countries and regions, and 39 animal breeding institutions and more than 10 scientific research institutes in China.
