The Chongqing Zoo in southwest China has taken special measures to help pandas relieve summer heat.
In the zoo, pandas are provided with air-conditioners indoors, and mist spraying and ice cubes outdoors.
When they are playing in the open air, they can enjoy fruits frozen in ice, lie on ice cubes and even take a cold water shower.
In addition to routine food, breeders also offer watermelons and mung bean soup to pandas.
"When it's very hot, we would freeze fruits in ice cubes and hand out to pandas for cooling. In addition, we also put large ice cubes in the places where they play to refresh them," said Zu Guo, a panda breeder of the zoo.
